The article deals with the main controversy within the second-wave feminism, with the relation between the concepts of equality and difference. Concepts of equality and difference can be traced in all feminist debates and represent the main factor which divided feminists in questions whether women are equal or different regarding men and whether they differentiate among themselves. The conundrum is closely connected with the relationship between feminism as apolitical project (emancipation) and feminism as a theory (feminist theory). Through the whole period of second wave feminism we can trace changes regarding the relationship between concepts of equality and difference and regarding the relationship between political and theoretical dimensions of feminism. The main factor of changes appears to be an ontological break which in feminism occurred with the deconstruction of the modern (female) subject.Članek se ukvarja z osnovno kontroverzo znotraj feminizma drugega vala, z razmerjem med pojmovanjem enakosti in razlike. Koncepta enakosti in razlike sta v osnovi prisotna v vseh feminističnih razpravah in predstavljata glavni \u27dejavnik\u27, ki je feministke delil ob vprašanjih ali so ženske različneali enake glede na nasprotni spol ter ali obstajajo tudi razlike med ženskami. Problem je hkrati tesno povezan z razmerjem med feminizmom kot političnim projektom (emancipacija) ter feminizmom kot teorijo (feministična teorija). Skozi celotno obdobje feminizma drugega vala so se razmerja med pojmovanjem enakosti in razlik ter razmerja med politično in teoretično dimenzijo feminizma spreminjala, glavni dejavnik sprememb pa je ontološki prelom, ki se je v feminizmu zgodil z dekonstrukcijo modernega (ženskega) subjekta
